Whether you've found the perfect designer fabric, want to coordinate with your existing décor, or have a treasured textile you'd love to transform into bespoke furniture, we'll carefully handcraft your footstool using the fabric you supply.

Designed with timeless styling and everyday practicality in mind, the Winton features a generously cushioned fixed top, elegant self piping made from your chosen fabric and a refined silhouette. Perfect as a coffee table ottoman, sofa footstool, occasional seat or statement centrepiece, every Winton is individually handmade to order in our Dorset workshop using traditional upholstery techniques and a solid timber frame.

Your Own Fabric
Create a completely bespoke footstool using your own supplied upholstery fabric, allowing you to perfectly complement your interior or showcase a favourite designer fabric.

Self Piping Finish
Finished with elegant self piping made from your main supplied fabric for a beautifully tailored look. For a bolder contrast, you can also supply a separate fabric for the piping.

Comfortable Upholstered Top
Designed with a generously cushioned fixed top, making it ideal as a footstool, occasional seat or coffee table ottoman.

How It Works

1. Choose your preferred footstool size, leg style and finish.
2. Contact us before purchasing your fabric so we can confirm it is suitable and advise how much you'll need.
3. Once confirmed, your fabric can be sent directly to our workshop or posted by your chosen fabric retailer.
4. We'll let you know as soon as your fabric arrives safely.
5. Your Winton Footstool will then be handcrafted to order using your supplied fabric.

Fabric Requirements

To ensure the best possible finish and durability, your chosen fabric should be suitable for upholstery.

We recommend that your fabric has:

• A Martindale rub count of 20,000 or above
• A suitable upholstery weight
• Compatibility with a fire retardant Crib 5 interliner if it is not already suitable for domestic upholstery

Large pattern repeats, directional prints, narrow width fabrics or fabrics requiring centred pattern placement may require additional fabric.

Please contact us before ordering your fabric so we can confirm suitability and advise on the quantity required.

Fabric Guide

As a guide, please allow approximately:

Extra Small & Small: 2.5 metres

Standard: 3 metres

Large: 3.5 metres

Square: 3 metres

These quantities are based on standard width upholstery fabric and include allowance for the self piping.

Dimensions

Length & Width: Available in a range of sizes. Please select your preferred option from the menu.

The upholstered body measures approximately 20cm high.

The final overall height will depend on the leg option selected. Please refer to the leg selection menu for the available heights and finishes.

Please allow up to 3cm variation due to items being handmade.

Please Note

This listing is for the manufacture of the footstool only. The outer upholstery fabric is not included and must be supplied by the customer.

Please do not purchase or send your fabric until we have confirmed that it is suitable for upholstery and advised the required quantity.

As every Winton Footstool is individually handmade using your chosen fabric, pattern placement will vary, making each piece completely unique.

Lovingly handcrafted on the South Coast in our Bournemouth workshop, every Winton Footstool is made to order and fully compliant with UK fire safety regulations.
